    simms challenger bib questions

I'm considering the simms challenger bibs or the gill active bibs. Read some reviews that the simms run smaller. I was 285 last year, and would have ordered 3x, but now I'm 230 (5'10") and don't know if I should get the xl in simms or the 2x. I'm leaning towards 2x so I can wear jeans under them, but don't want to be way over sized.

Know they are popular, so how did you find the sizing?

Simms seems to run bigger to me. Unless you really, really want to.lay3r up under the suit then an XL should fit you fine.

Glad to help. I need to say that my comments on sizing is based on my experience with the non insulated Challenger suit. I have never used tge insulated version.

The non insulated is what I’m going to buy.

I've been looking into them as well. Everyone says they run big.

I’m 5’10 and 240, I just bought the jacket and bib set in the challengers. I ordered XXL, they fit me perfectly.

I have the challenger jacket and bibs that I don't really care for. When its raining heavily it doesn't seem to be as water repellent. Works great in a light rain when the water can bead off. Just thought I would share my experience.

A lot of people just don’t realize that if it’s not Goretex, it likely won’t hold up. Especially over time. The Challenger series is NOT Goretex.
