    Splash well holes

Installing a new hyd jackplate, so need to run the wires into the battery compartment by cutting a pass-thru hole in the splash well. Has anyone figured a way to waterproof such holes? Current hole (with transducer cable and temperature wire) has a rubber grommet, but too small to add more wires (j/p connectors are too big, and the only way to make the current hole larger would involve snaking the SS3D transducer cable out from the console area).

Is there a different kind of pass-thru device that's more waterproof than a rubber grommet, or just put something like 4200 or other sealant in the grommet around the wires? I'm just trying to minimize the amount of water coming into the compartment from the splash well right above the charger and batteries. Thanks in advance.

Can you use the current hole that the steering cables or hoses pass thru?

A product like c.p.e.s. Would seal a hole like that in a few coats then any grommets you want. But I'd try anything else rather than drilling additional holes.
