Al you will have no issue. Trim it up and go. Back end will blow around a little easier but you won't cause any harm. Where are you guys fishing without me?

Check with the rules. Had a friend that fished a federation tournament a few years ago and the motor had to work. They got word that he was having lower unit issues (his reverse would not work). They wanted to see if the motor went into neutral and forward.

I had a motor not crank one morning when I showed up to one. Just dropped the trolling motor and got second because I fished all day instead of driving around. Never went more than two miles from the ramp probably.

The whole mid section is basically submersible already, is there anything in the midsection that water cannot get into already?

I fished tournaments with my big motor out of commission many times. Raise it out if the water.

Only thing I'm thinking is bottom of powerhead where driveshaft goes into and maybe the exhaust tuner. But I don't think with a trolling motor you'll have water gushing up there.

This is the USA. You can do whatever you want! All kidding aside it wont hurt at all to use the boat. I won a team championship fishing with just the trolling motor one time. I had practiced the day before and located some good fish at the other end of the lake. Motor wouldn't piss water on tournament morning and i was afraid to run it that far. Fished around the boat ramp on tournament day and there were way better fish in that area! I had that area all to myself too.

Had a guy blow his powerhead last day of practice. He fished the next 2 days on troller only. Won the tourney to boot. Makes you really slow down and just fish I guess.
