Prop for 08 Cougar Repower ???

I have 08 Cougar and am repowering with a 2022 250 Pro XS and need to know the best prop to buy for HS and top speed .
I live in South Louisiana and mainly fish in water 3 to 8ft deep and dont run the boat super heavy but I do have a single PP on the back .
Whats every ones " go to " prop for repowering and what type of speeds are you seeing on older Cougars with new Mercs ?
Just was wondering what to expect and what type of hole shot and speeds I can achieve .

I have a 24p fury 3 on mine. Tried to run a 25p fury today for experimentation sake. 44f water and 64f air. Got 76 mph out of it but could only get about 5900rpms. The 24p I can get 6150rpms and 79.6mph.

I got to run it at wot this weekend . 24 FURY , 50 gallons of gas , live wells 1/2 full , 2 men , Co anglers tackle and 80 degree weather with 100% humidity( morning temperatures) , 75 mph and not sure of RPM . Next morning I ran by myself around 25 gallon of gas , live wells empty , 77.6 mph at 6050 rpm . Whenever it cools off down here if the 4 strokes are anything like a 2 stroke this new motors should have a couple more mph in it . I also would like to run a 23 fury on it to see what it will do . Hole shot and mid range are stupid good with this 24 !!!

I’m sorry but I have to disagree with a fury . I run a puma and my fishing partner runs a cougar . Fury’s suck I don’t care who works on them . Worst prop ever made for big water . Get a tempest or trophy

And I would have to disagree with that . Ive ran a trophy before on my old motor but not much , I also ran a Tempest plus A LOT and the Fury out performed both of them and a dozen more props on my boat in every category EXCEPT for top speed . The tempest was a couple MPH faster than the other props .

Keep in mind they are all junk out of the box with the exception of a Hydromotive. You've run your share of props and are aware of that. I would think running shallow you would look at a 4 blade. I gave up top end a few years ago for holeshot and handling by going Bravo or Hydromotive.

Props that are worked down are never as good as a propped worked up
    Thank You Leon Pugh
