If anyone can assist me I'd be eternally grateful.

I've spent hours scouring here and the internet to no avail, but, I've probably missed somewhere along the line. I've spent 3 or 4 hours going back and forth with Lowrance.....to no avail as of yet.

The following pics are what I'm seeing......nothing but a narrow band of "interference"/static.
The following are also pics of the info I could pull from the unit. The 4.0 is the latest/final software version, but, I'm not sure if the SS software version is current as I can't figure out what's what???

ANY assistance would be GREATLY appreciated! I just completed an 18 month/350 hour+ total renovation of my boat and the only thing left are these d@mnedable, cursed electronics.....😉

Also, as the whole bass fishing world is upgrading to FF there are any number of HDS12 GEN3's for sale all over the net for $700/$800. IF I upgrade to one of them, and, as my HDS10 GEN2 at the bow is acting as a "monitor" (as I understand it...), I'm assuming the 3D image on the HDS12 GEN3 at the console (acting as the primary) will be transferred and displayed on the HDS10 at the bow? (via the Ethernet cable to the HDS10 bow unit) Is this true?

Again, ANY assistance is GREATLY appreciated, as I'm lost as to who/where to turn for help! Lowrance hasn't really been of much assistance, at least to date......old electronics so I'm sure I'm waaaaaay down the priority list.

Gen 2 won't work with SS3D. Would be cheaper for you to go with a LSS2 transducer

I realize the 3D won't work, but, the SS and DS SUPPOSEDLY will work (and with better clarity). Both Lowrance and the fisherman I bought the 3D and transducer from (he was using em with the same units I have currently) state they will work. I bought the 3D SS/transducer with the intention of upgrading to GEN 3's once the resale prices dropped. Apparently that's what I'm going to be forced to do in order to have a functioning system. Again, than you for responding!

Are you testing this on the water? Your scaling is really shallow. Try going out to 80 ft.

You bet......I've run it all the way out, and in.....same thing. Gotta be the wiring coming into the SS or the transducer. The nice lady at Lowrance is trying to help me locate the issue.

Side- and Downscan from SS 3D does work on HDS Gen 2, as I proved a few years back:

But you need to stick below a certain softwarelevel on the SS 3D module (the Gen 2 can be fully updated). Look at post 40 and onwards in the link above.

I contacted the nice lady at Lowrance about how to go about downloading an earlier version of the 3d software as prescribed by Team Colibri.....received this in return....

Sorry, but the oldest software for SS 3D have have kept is 61.1, and that is to new. If I remember correctly you need 56 or earlier.
Basically support can stop telling you it will not work, and just send you an old update from their FTP-server. Sorry, I can`t help you with that.

Can you tell me this, if I buy a HDS GEN 3 unit for the console......and Ethernet to the front HDS GEN2 at the bow...... will the GEN 2 at the bow display the same image as the console GEN3?

Wow....i CANNOT thank you guys enough! I'm on the course now coaching, but, will respond properly tonight.....

As for the software version, I honestly don't know, other than it has to be an earlier version than my current version. I'm hoping one of the Team Colibri guys or one of you guys will chime in. I'm a 15hdcp....but, with the correct instruction I'll get it done.....that I CAN promise.

What I will tell you is this, I've been trying to get this stuff working properly for quite awhile now, with no luck. As a result I'm VERY grateful for the assistance....very, very grateful!

Apparently, earlier software will correct my problem.....I'm all for going WAY back or trying several that are earlier than my current version until one hits...

it appears everything I have are later versions than what you already have. The 3.0-58.1.94 might help but every thing else is from the years '18, '19, '20 and probably isn't what you need. I also carry an SD card in the boat with various updates on it. I'll check that in the morning when I get to the shop.

The boat I am selling today, hopefully, has a Gen 2 8 non touch and a Gen 3. The non touch Gen2 for me while lacking features of the Gen3 is the more solid platform. That is less wonky. It seems I am for ever pushing the Gen 3 screen to correct stuff (it wants to read 140 FOW auto for example) set manual 20 or 30 FOW then it "fixes it's self after a while. I got and installed a Carbon 9 on the new boat and wow. I originally thought I'd let the buyer pick one of those older units and reinstall on the new boat. BPS / Cabalas have Carbon 9's with the 3 in 1 and a discover map chip again at $799. Jump a generation get the Carbon 9 and slave the Gen 2 or use as dedicated sonar. Other than my suggestion spending your money, Team Colibri is in the top of the class as resources I've found. Thanks TC.

Don't know the naming conventions for the earlier versions like the 3.0-58.1.94. 3.0 is probably the 3rd major update since the first release with the xx.x.xx the minor version(s). The other conventions are rather easy 18.2-xx.x.xx is the second update in 2018. 19.1-xx.x.xx is the first update in 2019 and so on and so on.....
