Came across a nice 1998 Stratos 283 with a 175 fast strike. Been parked for several years unused so I know I'll be rebuilding carbs, replacing fuel lines and water pump etc. Previous owner says its a little rocket ship on the water. Anybody have any experience with these rigs and can maybe give me some idea of what to expect performance wise?
They're right about the rocket ship... I have a Stratos 273 w/ Johnson Fast Strike 150 and it's one. I'm sure someone with give you some specifics about that boat, but I love mine.
Low to mid 60's stock from what others have said. Fine tuned with a jack plate possible a lil more.

After finally testing it, it's faster than I know how to drive it. 67 GPS when it starts walking. Still pulling pulling strong before the Chine. Plenty for this ole boy.
