What were the Production Years for the Stratos 288?

I picked up an older boat yesterday from a friend. He's looking for the paperwork. It's a Stratos 288 with a Johnson 150. This will be a fun project boat. I did not have time to get/find hull number. It's not an FS or a VS from what I can discern. It only says 288 on side of boat. The Coast Guard rating plate is badly faded. I'll post some pics in a couple of days. Thanks in advance.

I have a 1996 288, also have a buddy with a 96. I think mine is a VR model.

look on the transom on the drivers side of the boat.
last 2 numbers should be year.
