I was using a US based server. Just one of those odd occurrences I guess.

Why did you cut out the URL in the screenshot?

Wasn't on purpose. I don't have a shortcut to paypal. I always type it in manually as just paypal (firefox automatically adds the .com). When the page loaded every time it was the correct url except it had "ru" added.

I would recommend that you change your PayPal password. Use at least 16 characters.
.ru is most likely a Russian based website.

Are you serious or just joking? What do you think the RU means?

I know what RU means. not sure how much you read, I didn't add the RU when I typed the URL, I've never directed my browser to an RU site, clearing all paypal cookies and cache info didn't stop the .RU being added. The only thing that stopped the RU site from being called was closing the browser and disconnecting the VPN.

As an experiment, I just closed my browser, connected to the VPN, opened the browser and entered paypal on the URL line. Hitting enter once again brought up the RU paypal site. Time to contact the VPN provider I guess.
