Running transducer/ethernet cables tonight. How does the carpeted kick panel remove and does it need to be? Looks to me that removal allows easier access to route wires into the console. I think it is riveted in.

Mine is riveted in with 4 rivets
The kick panel can be removed by drilling out the rivets and re attached with stainless screws. Not a reason to do that though.
You can run your cabled through the rigging tube under the dash or side panel.
