    DEC announced new regulations

The DEC just announced new changes to regulations starting April 1st. The ones that stood out the most to me were:
-May 1st is the opening date for walleye
-Oneida Lake walleye limit got bumped up to 5 per person
-June 15 is the bass opener.
-no limit on walleye for skaneateles lake

That basically puts the bass opener days earlier than when it followed Father’s Day. They don’t have the regulation booklet out yet so who knows if they changed anything else for bass fishing.

The one thing that stayed that we all wish would’ve went away is there’s still no catch and release up on the 1000 islands and northern counties

Hope its says this way and would love to push for no sanctioned tournaments
(paper) over 10 boats until season opens. NO tournament permits issued ( over 10 boats) untill June 15th. I love tournament fishing after season opens.

Sounds like the population must be down and they are trying to build it up by keeping more fish in the spawning range.
