Daiwa tatula would be my choice.

Another one for daiwa corked tatulas. Got quite a few, very impressed with them!
Ark Invoker Pro is right in that price range , heck of a stick for the money. Very comfortable to fish with , light , not tip heavy and very sensitive.
I haven't been real impressed with the St. Croix Mojo Bass rods. They have a couple good spinning rods, but the casting rods left a lot to be desired. My iRod Genesis II are good, the Genesis III seems to be a lot better. Lots of models to cover it, but the neat part is, their ratings are very true if not under-rated. So a rod rated for 3/4oz will EASILY handle 3/4oz. Some of them will handle exceeding both ends (the 6'10 jerkbait rod for example, rated 1/4-3/8oz, will easily handle a 1/8oz bait and a 1/2oz bait). Not my favorite for bottom contact, but they work.

Thanks to all for the responses!
I live in that $100-$150 range and mostly use Ark (Invoker Pro, Tharp) and Daiwa (Tatula) rods.
Alx Ikos ,also.
Alx ikos are nice rods I have the 7ft 3 med heavy promise. I think it's a good rod for alot of techniques. Like to have a few more. I do have a couple Powell endurances also and in my opinion the Ikos is a better rod. Not sure if you could get your flipping 7ft 9 in that model though
I have both. Powell rods are too stiff and ALX Ikos are very nice.
No the grip is fine doesn't feel too thick at all.

I think that is the price point where you begin to start seeing some decent rods, but I don’t think you will find any that significantly stand out over the others in that price point. Bad ones in that price point probably exists, but the good ones are going to be very comparable to each other.
