Arbuckle Report

My ABA derby was cancelled so went to Arbuckle Thursday before the weather hit. A few boats on the water and wind was moving but not too bad. Left the A rig at home and worked on my Jerkbait fishing. Caught a 2lb smallmouth on a Jerkbait and another 2 lb on a Ned rig. Missed another on a Jerkbait. Water temp got up to 57 and was pretty clear everywhere. Bite was not happening and spoke to a guy at the ramp that was fishing live Shad for smallmouth. They didn’t get a bite all day so I didn’t feel too bad. Nice weather and good day on the water. I put in on the lake for the first time ever this past Saturday. I just moved to Ardmore from West Georgia. Beautiful lake, but she was mean to this newcomer! Had a possible bite on a shaky head and that was it. I for sure cannot wait to get back out and hopefully with a little better luck.

Fished Sunday. Only caught one fish but it was 8# 13oz. on a crawdad colored crank bait. Only been in Ardmore two years and it is mean to newcomers. :)
