    Glue for plastic to chrome

My Nissan has the black plastic step plate cover over rear bumper. The lock tab is broke off of the plastic step. Would like to glue it and clamp down till sets up. Any suggestions on type of glue.

Ive always used clear silicone for that type of application. Could also use 3m trim double sided tape. Its for auto trim panels and can be found at any auto parts store.

Contact cement, if you have a decent fit with lots of surface contact area. It might help to clamp/weigh the plastic to the bumper and apply some heat to improve the fit and contact area before you try to glue it. I also see a lot of folks liking "Shoo Gloo" or something like that. Haven't used that, myself.

I am doing some remodeling and needed something good and strong, I just used something new to me and have a new favorite glue.....try it
Its made by DAP, its called Rapid Fuse all purpose adhesive
Label says dries in 30 seconds and it does, says bonds virtually everything and so far everything I have tried it on it has bonded fast and strong, its like super glue being thin and clear but bonds fantastic, no I do not work for them.....lol.....I just tried this and have used it on several materials and its been great.......Look it up

If that step plate is polyethylene and i'm pretty sure it is,in reality, nothing really sticks to it for very long. The 3M molding tape wold be your best bet. If you have gaps to fill,3M windshield sealant.

Double sided tape, as others have stated. If you've got a gap most glue is going to have a hard time.
