Best lake in TX right now

Taking a trip next week and trying to decide where to head. Which lake(s) in TX are fishing the best right now? I’m more interested in numbers, but size is nice also!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

    Good question !!
Most any lake should be at or near it's prime for shallow water fishing next week. I'd stay away from OH Ivie.

fayette is the safest choice for numbers and fish in the 3-5 pound range

if you want a sharelunker and willing to fight the crowds.. OH IVIE is the lake you want. They've had like 5 sharelunkers caught this year... Look up Josh Jones Fishing on Facebook and you'll see.. I think he caught 2 over 14l this year.

Fayette for numbers just be aware of the vultures that can tear your vehicle up. My vote for numbers and potential size would be Fork or Rayburn. Like others said if you wanna deal with a crowd and chase a DD go to Ivie.

Just looking at the ShareLunker site. There are no Legacy entries from Fork this year. Nine from Ivie, three from PK and the other six are singles from Austin, Coleman, Daniel, Eagle Mtn, Houston, Sam Rayburn. Fork, of course, has more Legacy entries over the life of the program with 263.

    Cold at fork this morning.
Puddle of water last night was all ice this morning!
Easy to remove in one piece.
    Post cold front sucked.
    Better tomorrow.

I have heard the vultures have decreased, true or not. Haven't been there in a while.............

I was on Fayette this past Sat. Wind was rippin' out of the sse at a 25-30, so we didn't see many buzzards. We put in at oak Thicket at 630a and were off the water by 2p, boated 38 with 5 over 4 lbs.
