Try killing power to the TM, then removing the remote batteries.
Deploy the TM, reinstall the remote batteries, then reconnect TM power.
Repeat the remote link instructions on page 37 of the manual.
If you’ve already tried this, apologies. Just a suggestion.

Quick question about MG Tour Pro for owners, is the thrust power delayed like the Ultrex or instant full power of setting? Thanks!

I did not have any trouble linking or using the remote after my board replace. The tech said he linked and used a remote (not mine) to run some of the calibrations after he replaced the board so I can't imagine why anyone would have a problem linking their remote after the board replace unless their tech is just installing it and not performing any of the calibrations.

I never had the "safety issue" the board was designed to fix so I can't claim that it fixed it. I was hoping since they had to provide that fix via something as expensive as a new board that they would take the opportunity to include fixes for one or all of the other quirky issues I've experienced but no such luck.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

I got a new letter today. It looks a lot like the first one, but includes a new line stating one can request a USB update programer. I requested one. I'll report back.

It powers up progressively. 1/2 or maybe 1/3 of selected speed to start. You can tell when it progresses higher, but it’s smooth.

This was my initial pick for my replacement TM, but these issues spooked me off. It’s a shame, because the one I’ve been running has been in service since about 2002, and it’s been tougher than a bulls tail.

Mine has worked flawlessly despite being subject to the recall.

I ordered my programmer today. I like the idea of being able to update on the fly instead of waiting for a dealer to have an appointment...

Do I just call MG to order a programmer or do I have to wait for a letter from MG?
    Does this programmer cost anything?

Where is the location of the usb port? Is it part of board upgrade/recall to get one installed?

From the “Tour Pro Software Update” page. Attach to the NMEA foot pedal cord. Excellent idea for applying updates actually.
    https://www.motorguide.com/us/en/own...re-update.html
The Tour Pro USB Programmer (8M4005750) is powered using a traditional 9V battery. If the status LED will not light up when pressed, change the 9V battery in the USB Programmer chassis.
Note: the USB Programmer MUST be powered on and connected to the NMEA foot pedal cord prior to powering on the Tour Pro trolling motor.

The included improvements address/improve quite a few areas of operation. Although my Tour Pro is working flawlessly, I believe I’ll request the USB module. The first 3 items are of particular interest.

    • Faster anchor recovery when anchoring at speed
    • Stow assist by holding shaft position during stow
    • Power steering disable/enable modes (M288/287)
    • Compass calibration check (M113)
      • Error beep (downtone): GPS not ready
      • Triple beep (3 beeps/1 sec): M111 recommended
      • Single beep: M111 is calibrated, no action required

    • Various software improvements and fixes

Maybe MG finally got their $h!+ together. Now, if they could just do something about that big ass head.

It connects to the NMEA port on the foot pedal.

The USB connector on the dongle is to connect it to a computer to load future updates.

Same but I did do the M114 (reset), M112 centerline, M111 GPS calibration, M284/M285 pedal/steering calibrations when that info became available last year.

Have not heard of that one. Is it a reset to factory specs?
