Gambler 2200 with 250XS

Anyone on here have a 2200 with a 250XS 2stroke?
Iam looking at one and curious about performance numbers
Mainly hole shot and top end. Does it seem to be underpowered?
originaly had a 300X on it but owner took it off and
put a 250 on it to fish his sons high school tournaments.
He said it handles and runs good. thought I would ask here before test riding it.
His opinion on handling and runs good might be different than mine.

Jerry I had a 2200 with a 250XB and though it’s not the 250XS I can’t imagine the performance is too much different. What lower unit does the XS have? If it’s a Sportmaster it’s not gonna be a good fit. Hopefully it’s the Torquemaster with 1.75 gears

Yes it is a torquemaster lower. I’ve had a 2100 & 209 both with 250xs and performance was great but the 2200 is bigger and heavier . Just seeing real-time experience from someone with this set up. Boat has tabs as well.

G1: I had a 06 model 2200 with a 250XS on it before I bought my Cat. If it has tabs the hole shot is whatever you want it to be and I could only get 77 on the top end. Really wish I still had it....Lots of storage in a big boat.

I have a 2200 with pro xs250 and when I got it it had a 300xs. I can tell you other then loosing about 4-6 mph top end not much different anywhere else IMO

If your concerned the 250xs is not enough motor rest assured it is plenty.
