    New boat

Maybe a first, but my wife said I should get a new boat before I retire. My boat is 8 years old and I still really like it, looks new have all the upgrades I like. I told her, I don't really see anything at this time that makes me want to trade. So that's a new one telling the wife I don't need a new boat.

My wife has been telling me the same thing for a couple of years now. One of these days, I’m going to call her bluff…..

30 years of marriage here and my wife has always supported me when buying/upgrading my boats. Are kids are all grown and out on their own, we both are blessed with great jobs, and we both support each other to pursue the things that we are passionate about. So, no it’s not a first, but you are definitely a blessed man to have a wife who supports your passion.

Get your boat how you want it if you haven’t already. Then if something pops up that you can’t live without, get it! Congrats

It's a trap. She is wanting a new car or do a remodel of the house or something else that is expensive. You buying a new boat justifies her getting to do what she is really wanting

I'm still satisfied with my 2004 Skeeter which I've owned since new.

Your wants will never kill you if you don’t act on them. I am not talking about needs but wants.

I am in the same boat

Wife told me to get a new one before I retire, I just can't decide which one. Crap, I can't even decide tin or glass.

The year was 1990, wife is begging for a 3rd child, throws out, you can go buy a new boat. April 1991, he was born. As I held him in the hospital, I thought to myself, Hell, you can’t go buy a new boat, you have 3 kids now! Some things are NEVER meant to be.

Think it was 2007 was at Richmond fishing show with wife and kids. We are at the Mare booth and wanders over to a white BassCat, similar to the 2000 Cougar that was at home. Salesman was coming over and my wife says, “I like this one, you should buy it.” You could see his eyes light up, saying, “She said you can buy it.” He could not get over that I didn’t jump on the opportunity. 3 kids and fully funding their college funds had priority. 2014 bought a new Puma and 2015 a new Vette, lucky to have a trophy wife.

In 25yrs my wonderful wife has said I could buy a new boat twice. I drove the 1st one since new for almost 20 yrs and upgraded a few weeks ago. If you can afford it, get it, as the stars don’t align often.

8 years old is just getting broke in. If anything, keep the boat and trade the motor in on a new one.
