Sounds like a lot of water for them to fish.

Same Old Same Old.....would love to see the classic in a new, different location every year - seems like it just goes to the highest bidder now.....its all about the money

thats exactly what it is. Whoever puts up the most money hosts the classic.. that’s why it feels like the classics are just in a 4-5 lake rotation. I would love to see them fish in AZ, CA, TX, FL,... but I doubt that will happen.

It's always been about the money. Now it's about money and arena for weigh ins and expo. They have held some Classics at less than stellar fisheries.

This Classic will be in late March so it will be very different fishery from the other Classic held in Knoxville.

It is about the money, but its also about the logistics and infrastructure available at the venue. I'm not saying other places don't have the necessary arrangements, but imagine having to plan everything from the ground up every year. Its just a business decision. BASS exists to provide a superior tournament platform and make money. That is priority one. Putting events on just because some fans would like to see it there is probably not high on the list, and you can't blame them.
I loved it when the Classic was in Knoxville, and am glad to see it return. Started making travel plans about an hour ago.

Ray Roberts last year was pretty different

People also forget that you have to have enough hotels nearby as well as an arena for weigh in and a place for the Expo within a hour or so drive of the lake.

If they fished a lake where the expo had to be small everyone would bitch and whine. Better to have it in cities that can support it.

Since the 80’s it’s been about the money, not about the lake.

It will be interesting to see how the pros do. I catch very few large fish on Loudoun or Tellico. I generally catch larger on Watts Bar.
