    1996 nitro Savage884 stringer ???

I have a 1996 Nitro savage that I am replacing the transom from wood rot. My question is are the stringers wood in these boats and need checked for rot at well? I want to fix it right while I am doing it.

You can do the tap test or 3/16 drill bit to take a core sample. Then either reseal or pull the cap and start cutting.
