I swapped the Elite fs 7 to a Carbon 9, i got the good deal from Cabelas and it came with the 3 in 1 transducer so i could replace the 2 in 1 that came on the boat. added the large powerpole buttons and DD26 Ghost pedal pad, and replaced the trolling motor power plug with a USB port and moved the power cord below the deck. 20211209_230607.jpg

On the Ghost i installed a Bobs prop nut, Crown weed chopper and T-H marine troll tamer. the river here turns into a salad end of summer so the nut and chopper will be great. 20211209_230611.jpg

I installed gas springs to the cooler and step, i also added a second one to the port locker, the factory one was too weak by itself. 20220101_202531.jpg20220101_202540.jpg20220101_205127.jpg

I added a 3rd lithium, changed start battery to large 31 AGM, and added a group 31 battery box for tool bag and spares. This boat has a huge rear storage, there is also a charger and 2 powerpole pumps in there. The factory electrical was not labeled and was all stuffed on the battery posts, so i added buss bars, disconnect, and labeled everything, still need to add a main fuse for the battery lead. I also ran dedicated power to each graph. 20220117_210255.jpg20211205_134428.jpg

I moved the FS 7 from the bow to the right of the console, on a large ram ball mount so that i can easily swing it inboard for putting the boat cover on. I didn't like how low the FS 7 in the dash was and the dash was warping and flexing the graph, so i made a n aluminum plate, it allowed me to raise it up a bit and it takes the strain of the dash panel, which is perfectly flat now with the plate, and i think it looks great, it matches the lower switch panels. I also installed the water pressure gauge and the powerpole controller. 20211206_215401.jpg20211206_222334.jpg

I have networked all 3 graphs together on N2k and ethernet, that was another reason for getting the Carbon, it has 2 ethernet ports and the FS only has 1, so i used the carbon as an ethernet switch. The N2k network also has my Point-1, Sonic hub 2, and Ghost on it as well. The Sonic hub is mounted upside down in the port forward locker and the Point-1 is left of the port console. 20211202_203350.jpg

Here is the 3 in 1 transducer that came with the Carbon, its mounted in the same location as the factory 2 in 1. This install is pretty much perfect, the motor trimmed all the way down won't get in the way, its tilted forward 4 degrees so that it is level at scanning speed of around 5 mph, it also gives a really good picture up in the mid 30 mph range too. you can also see i have a hydraulic Atlas JP, they say 4" on Ranger site but it moves 5"

Great rigging. Not sure I have the energy to tackle these great upgrades. You put in a lot of time (and thought) getting this great set-up in place.

How fast is it, and did you add the 3rd battery for a 36 volt trolling motor?

With full tank of fuel, all my gear and 2 people, it will go 43 mph. I did add the 3rd battery for the trolling motor, i figured if i am going to carry that heavy 36v motor, i might as well use the power.
