    prop question

I have a 2007 Triton tr21 x2 with a 2007 Mercury 225 Pro xs on it. I'm looking for a good all around 4 blade stainless steel prop. With out busting the bank. I have a Tempest 25 pitch three blade on it now. It has been worked a few times and will make a good backup prop. Thanks serial #1B471629.

That x2 is heavy hull rated for 300hp. I would try to find a 23-24 fury4, or a 24,24.5, or 25 bravo. I don’t know that you’ll ever see 70 with a 225 but I can get 74 light and 71 loaded with a 250 pro xs with a 25 tempest and only lose about 2mph with 24 fury4 so you will probably need to be lighter on pitch than that. Marks razor4 and 4xl props do well on heavy hulls like ours. You aren’t going to “not break the bank” right now. Maybe a used trophy in a 24.

why has it gotta be a 4 blde, 25 TEMPEST is most likely the best all around prop theyve ever built , try before you buy

To back up what Joe said, the results I posted above are about as good as it gets with a 21x2, and yes it was with a 25 tempest. I now run a fury4 and suffer 2-3 mph most certainly but gain a little holeshot and slower planing speed. If/when it turns into a fury3.5 I will go back to tempest 25.

To Joe54 I fish the Bay of Green Bay and there are times we are caught and have to run in 10ft plus waves. I can't take a chance on it blowing out. Thank you all for posting
