Recessed trolling motor tray

I have a 1996 277 pro tournament. has anyone installed a trolling motor tray. Was there a cross bar that had to be cut. Any advise or tips would be great. thanks

I think I remember someone doing it on a 290 or 207 and cut into one but said it didn't sag or give afterwards. Have not heard anyone doing it on the 277. I don't think they had to cut all the way thru on theirs.

I have a 207 and had the tray install, no cross bar and happy I did it.

sounds good. mine came in yesterday, little nervous about the install.

if have a storage compartment that extends to just up under the pedistal seat, hope i don't have to cut into it.
