    Seal installation on hub

During installing the seal on my boat trailer hub, I inadvertently over drove the seal into the hub about 1/16" to 3/32" below flush with the rear of the hub. The bearings do not appear to be impacted by the seal deeper than normal, the assembly rotates freely with no noise or drag. Should I replace the seal again or leave as is?

    Thanks

Most I have seen have a shoulder to prevent that. But that little bit you should be fine. It will ride on a new spot on the axle.

    Should not be an issue.
Have done it on purpose to ride on fresh metal when the spindle was grooved or pitted.
