went to Hamilton, caught 2 fish in 7 hours, warmest water was 48 , found some ice in the back of one creek, water temp was 44 back there, usually I can wear them out on a jerkbait in that water temp, I think the water being off colored a bit had them off

They are killing them around here. Sacks over 20# are common. Fishing vertical. All you need is a spoon or jigging rap and a big Garmin Panoptix Livescope system to find them and stay on them.

I hope to go to Degray tomorrow. I fish mainly upper part of lake towards river. It will be nice just to get on the water. I may not catch a fish but it's good therapy for me.

Fished a fruit jar on Hamilton today, was tough. Cold and windy, fish weren't grouped up at least as far as I could tell.

That really sucks. Livescope is expensive.

Up until this past weekend have been catching pretty nice ones on Ouachita in 30-50ft sitting in creek channels and ditches or in deep timber. Hamilton was real good before the first of the year on a spoon but the last time I was there I could still find some deep but they were scattered. Sadly spring is coming and the deep bite will taper off and I'll have to beat the bank for a while.

Fished Beaver lake Sunday, it was slow, but managed a couple of nice smallies (by Beaver standards) on the Ned rig.

Thanks my friend - Love those smallmouth, this time of year they are fat and healthy, but I have to work for them.

Beaver lake Polar Bear tourney, Jan. 1, was won with 17 lbs. The guys that won it had 3 nice smallies in their 5. They fished the lower end of the lake, and it is unusual for someone to win fishing that end of the lake.

OK, here's another fish pic, I believe it is a meanmouth. Pretty cool coloration. I caught it on Table Rock yesterday, but I live in Arkansas so I think it still qualifies for an AR post. There was a bit of a jerk bait bite yesterday.

That’s a pretty bass though. Based on the markings, what crossed you think?
