Here is another tip. Always keep a line tied to your throwable cushion. That way if you throw it and miss you can get it back. Or if the person catches it you can use it to pull them to the boat.

You could have that preset up, especially in the winter and especially if fishing alone.

I'm 70 and fish often by myself. I will do this when fishing alone.

Glad to pass this along. Let's hope none of us ever need it but it could save a life one day.

Standing on the cavitation plate and using the power trim to help lift you in the boat is another tip. I had some medicine cause me to have a horrible dizzy spell and i fell into Old Hickory lake and hit my back on the corner of a dock. Thankfully it was warm out size and my Allison sits low in the water and I was able to climb back in. Could've been bad, thankfully the man upstairs was looking after me.

Had a older club member try getting back in the boat after falling overboard on the Pokomoke river. He tried the cavitation plate trick but his footing slipped and he cut himself on the prop bad enough that he required stiches. His age and the cold water didn't help. I put a ladder on my boat shortly after that tournament and won't have another boat without one.
