Anybody in here Ever Actually Fish?

I haven't been after any black bass lately, but the good eating stuff has sure been biting! Headed down to Taneycomo next weekend to try and defend our title in the Lilleys Landing Masters trout tournament! If you don't winter fish in MO, you're really missing out on some of the best fishing of the year!

This one is my lil bro. He always wants me to take him fishing, but it's like pulling hens teeth to actually get him to go when I do ask. He put a whoopin on us that day. Caught two keeper walleye and had the biggest hybrid for the day. He's lucky! I'd rather see my family catch em than myself though anyday!

Awesome catches! The crappie fishing at LOZ has been lights out this winter with it staying warmer. Hopefully the trend continues until spring.

I haven’t been to Taney como in quite a few years but it always was a great time. I agree with bigred44 the crappie fishing at LOZ has been very good this winter.

I've been three times with a couple differfent buddies and it hasn't taken us longer than 1h 45 minutes to get both limits. We were in the Glaize twice and once withing a few miles of the dam. The number of 10-10.5" fish in that lake is crazy right now!

Too cold for many pictures yesterday, but I fished for about two hours while trying to figure out the Mega Live imaging. 44 degree water around the 21MM at the ozarks, and they're still hungry!

We hit the Glaize yesterday in search of crappie. It took us a lot longer to catch our limits than it had been (5 hours instead of 1-1.5 hours) but the quality of fish was quite a bit better. Had several 12in+. The small one was a 10 incher. Ended up finding them congregated in areas around condo docks instead of the main lake swim deck stuff we had been fishing.

It's not as sturdy as a wooden homemade jobber but it definitely gets the job done and it's highly portable!

I was still catching crappie on Mark Twain last Tuesday, but the cold snap right after froze more of the lake. Hopefully I will be able to get a boat below a dam on the Mississippi this weekend to catch walleye and sauger.

I got out on Taneycomo for about an hour and half and that's all I could handle! Friday was another cold one. Saturday and Sunday weren't too bad though! We didn't do worth a flip in the trout tournament on Saturday but found a decent fish the day before and after.

I have always wanted to fish on the Mississippi for Walleye and Sauger, but never have. Is February the prime time, does it vary and does anyone know if below the Winfield or Clarksville Dam is more worth while?

Clarksville used to be better than Winfield mainly because it has a much larger area to fish. February can be be really good. Prime conditions include lower water levels, no ice, availability of large shiners.
