    In North Texas most of the lakes are Army Corps of Engineers lakes. You can't even take a handgun onto the property. I think most people ignore it but, in a tournament situation, I always want to be able to say I complied with laws. Unfortunately, I think many of the people that make that statement do so in ignorance of the law.

    FWIW here in North Carolina, as well as in South Carolina it's legal to carry a concealed weapon (if you have a concealed carry permit) while fishing (or hunting). However, there are a few Lakes where local laws prohibit it. I don't believe you can legally have a firearm on Lake Jordan. (NC).

    1911 .45 in the vehicles. Boat has a flare pistol. It is not considered a gun as it is a signaling device.

    In South Carolina, a licensed hunter or fisherman can carry open or concealed, while hunting or fishing, or coming from or going to hunt or fish, either in vehicle or on foot. This law is Independent of, and precedes, the recent legislation permitting open carry if you have your CWP.

    SECTION 16-23-20. Unlawful carrying of handgun; exceptions.

    It is unlawful for anyone to carry about the person any handgun, whether concealed or not, except as follows, unless otherwise specifically prohibited by law:

    (4) licensed hunters or fishermen who are engaged in hunting or fishing or going to or from their places of hunting or fishing while in a vehicle or on foot;

    Yes, Florida Statute 790.25(3)(h) allows those who may legally possess a firearm to open or conceal carry the firearm while fishing, camping, or lawful hunting

    And even if it wasn't I still would. I never want to be in a conversation with " If I had my pistol right now you wouldn't be doing this to me!"
