Happy New Year everyone. So I am planning on fishing the Canadian side a lot more this season.(Lake Ontario, St Lawrence). Just wondering what the current laws were for crossing over. Thanks

During the 1st year of Covid you couldn't boat into Cdn waters at all. Late last summer they relaxed the law....but who knows what it will be this summer, still because of Covid. Anyway, you should go online and check, but right now I'm pretty sure if you get a Cdn fishing license you can fish in Cdn water as long as you don't land anywhere or anchor (with a real anchor or talons) as that's considered "illegal entry" without reporting to Cdn Customs first, and can be a really stiff penalty. The same goes for Canadians wanting to fish in U.S. water.

I’m hoping Omicron is in the rear view mirror come spring.
That is a great hope but it looks ugly now.

The end of June is a long way off. I am praying that the border stays open. Missed 2 years in a row now.
