    What's the coldest water you still have confidence

    In catching fish?

    I have confidence that I WON’T catch bass on Grand in February. But, I’m trying to remedy that…even if I must throw a “#%#” A-rig. It’s usually around 40 degrees or lil bit lower. Shad are dying off & fish can eat til they puke.

    Agree. Yesterday with bluebird skies and post frontal conditions in 41 degree water, I whacked them.
    Coldest water I’ve fished this winter so far and it was my best day this winter.
    I’ve had good days with water in the mid 30’s.

    I broke ice on grand a year ago almost to the day today and had a good day. I’d rather fish 40 degree water than 90.
