.22 rimfire works well. Note: do not use on cats while cat is in the boat.

Had an issue with mice really bad one year. I put glue traps with peanut butter in the middle of them everywhere. Plus spring traps. Within a week I caught about 7 mice. Was the last time I had mice in the boat.

I'm in Fl also, thought I had mice getting in the boat and turns out it was Squirrels. I got one of those 12V electronic repelling things and so far it has worked out fine. I had to put them under the hoods of my vehicles so I already had tested them in closed quarters.

Best to walk around the boat and see how they are climbing in. Mice do not have suction cup feet. They are not climbing the engine or fiberglass. Most likely climbing a rope or power cord. I have never in 40 years seen any sign of a mouse being in my boat and it has been in a boat stall at the lake all those years with lots of evidence of mouse droppings in the stall.

I feel your pain. I had rats in the storage unit where I store my boat. They chewed some wire loom on my Phoenix. I tried the rat poison from the box stores…they never touched it. A friend told me about Just One Bite. Works like a charm. No more rats. Took about a month before I stopped seeing new droppings.

Get that bucket with a stick on it. They try to get the food, spin and fall into the water.

I done all these tricks and caught a boat load of mice. Problem is, when the dryer sheets, Irish Spring, etc stays there long enough they get acclimated to it and it is no longer effective. What I did last fall before I put the boat away was filled it with water, let the water slosh back and forth up and down my pitched driveway. When I parked the boat, a mouse came out but I couldn't get him. Put traps in with PB and the next day he was in it and the day after another one. That has been it for a couple of weeks and I wrapped it up. Have to wait and see what comes out in the spring. Will be in our new home by May and want t make sure they're gone because the boat issuing in the garage in the new home.

I stored my boat in the winter in upstate New York for 30 year in a farmer's barn. I've used mothballs in plastic trays with drier sheets and I've never had a problem with mice.

Get a bucket and put about 2 inches of water in it. Drill 2 holes in the of the top of the bucket on opposite sides. Get a wire hanger and a coke can. Smear peanut butter on the coke can. Run the hanger through the coke can and put the hanger through the holes in the bucket. Set up a ramp to the top edge of the bucket. I have gotten as many as 4 mice in 1 bucket. I have used this method in my shed for years.
