    Researching new trolling motor (weight)

I went out on a guide boat last month and didn't realize just how nice spotlock would be to have.

I have a smaller 17'7" basscat margay so I'm concerned with size/weight. He had an Ultrex and it just looked it would be huge for my boat.

Where can I find weights and dimensions for

    Ultrex
    Ghost
    Force
    PowerPole??

This information seems to be hard to find.

Not sure of the weights but my ultrex 80 isn’t a lot heavier than the fortress it replaced.

People have Ultrex trolling motors on 17 foot aluminum boats and they do fine.

Garmin Force is a little lighter than the ultrex. If you fish more than you run it is worth the loss of top speed.

I believe that video is inaccurate.

Russel Marine Products have done videos comparing Ghost vs Ultrex, and Force vs Ghost. In each they weigh them, then take them out on the water for comparisons.

I know the 24 volt Ultrex is somewhat lighter than the 36 volt Ultrex.

What about the Motorguide Tour Pro? It gets left out a lot is it not as good as the others? It and the ultrex are all I would consider since they both have cable steer, I have tried the all electric steer trolling motors and I don't like them at all.

Find a friend with a Ghost. I was the same way, for many many months. Never had been able to feel comfortable with a "fly by wire" trolling motor. Running Lowrance I finally caved and got the Ghost. Will never go back to cable motors as long as something built like the Ghost exists.
