Question about fuel tank "blowout"--Saddle tank

My best friend is running an 07 Puma FTD, with a Saddle fuel tank under the seat, with the fill cap on the port side of the rail.
He has a real problem with this tank belching out fuel as it fills, just before the tank fills up.

Is there a cause for this, and a way to avoid it?

    Thanks!

Mine does the same. I just do it slowly by hand when it gets to that point. Like you said its right before it fills up so I don't have to do it by hand very long so not a big deal to me.

Pointing the handles back towards the inside of the boat usually helps.

This one belches before you hear it.

mdwhitten, Check inside the neck for the red inserts that are placed inside the white fuel tank necks. You should be able to see them looking down inside the fuel caps.

There are no red inserts in the filler necks. Guess previous owner removed them, before my friend got the boat.

Yep, they were supposed to be there and someone in production might have left them out.

It's an inexpensive part that works very well.

Can they be ordered from parts, or are they no longer available.

They will have to be ordered and indicated what you need. They are not commonly sold.
