I have done the same in my area.
At one time I found a business that loaned props with a fee and you would have to pay shipping costs. I would like to find them again as I also would like to test a different prop.
Until about ten years ago, all of the bigger marina repair shops just did it as a courtesy. Now, I can't even find a place to pay for that option. I suppose it could be that not a lot stock props anymore, but I really think it's just par with all of the other changes in industry these days.

Nettles Props in Austin ( www.nettleprops.com) used to do that. Don't know if they still do. its been a while
