So on the new motors it says you can double tap the up or down trim and it will tilt the motor all the way up or down without holding the button..however has anyone been able to do it bc on my brand new one I can't seem to get that to work!

Assumption is that you have a VF250LB or VF250XB. Not a VF250LA.
System has to be activated. My guess is that has not been done.
I would never want that, if you accidentally double tapped it on a high speed boat, you could get thrown out.
