new carpet install - seat post hole

I added padding and recarpeted my deck on my Phoenix. I did not cut the hole for the seat posts. What is best way to cut thru padding and carpet once glued and get a nice hole?

You need to cut the padding before the carpet is glued down. Then after the carpet is done use a Soldering iron to cut the carpet. This will melt the edges and keep the carpet from unraveling.

I did the same. Used a box cutter and heated the blade with a torch. It came out clean and looks great. Just keep a spray bottle of water close just to make sure it does not catch fire. I did not have any issues.
