Which battery trays do you have now and which configuration if they are the double trays?

Have the aluminum trays with the aluminum tops. A double tray and a
    single battery tray

Yes I have 50 ah in my new lynx. The boat has the alum trays. I took the top bracket off and the six all thread studs out. Two batteries on the port side the other is next to the starting battery. I used the nylon cantilever straps to hold them down.

Is the double a side by side or tandem?

At only .300" smaller, I bet the top can be "tweaked" a bit and work fine. I just installed a different brand and added a single tray BCB/R&R And was able to tweak it some to make it work.

What I did to make my 3 Impulse 60ah batteries fit into the BCB tandem tray was pretty easy.

    1. Remove the top hold-down bracket.
    2. Remove the threaded studs.
    3. Remove the spacers to make one big open tray. The middle one needs to be removed from underneath or cut off the screw from the top (what I did).
    4. All three batteries should fit with everything removed.

Here is where you have a couple of options for holding them in place. The batteries are thinner than standard batteries so you must modify the hold-down bracket somehow.. I went a different direction and bought two stainless eye hooks at Home Depot with 1/4-20 threads. They fit right into the the spacer holes on each end of the tray. I added a lock washer so they do not loosen with time. I then ran a ratchet strap from one eye hook to the other and tightened everything up. The batteries are rock solid and do not move no matter how hard I try.

The 50ah Ionic Lithiums have their own tray that fits in place of the double aluminum tray on the port side of a Cat so you fit 3 batteries in place of 2 group 27 or 31s, this has been a popular install at my Cat dealership. I've also seen spacers built to use the factory aluminum trays.

Just installed Power House lithium in the Caracal. 2 36V 40AH, and 1 16V 80 AH, they all fit in the trays no issues. Only had to remove group 27 spacers to accommodate 31 series batteries.TrollingPHL.jpg16VPHL.jpg

I have 3 Ionics 50amp lithium's installed in my boat. Its not a cat sorry (Ranger) I used the factory trays and have them strapped down with the TH Marine straps never had any issues with them moving around or coming loose . I run the great lakes mostly!!! Hope this helps.

    jstbass,

the BCB trays are a custom aluminum constructed tray, which has an aluminum cover and uses stainless rods to secure each corner. The trays have removable end blocks that allow batteries from 24 group, to 27 group size and series 31 group cases. These are extremely durable and very secure.

To our knowledge the Ranger trays are strap models and plastic trays. Nothing against your setup though there honestly is no comparison.
