G Loomis Rod Tip Guide Info

I have a G Loomis GL3 FSR904X / 7'6" Heavy Flipping Stick, Med-Fast Action that I need to replace just the tip guide. Is there anyone here who knows the tube and guide ID and the type of Fuji guide I need to buy. I know this is a real long shot but jus askin! Thanks

Do you have a set of calipers? You can measure it yourself to make sure it’s right. The nomenclature will be something like this: xx/yy

Xx= the ring diameter is measured in mm.

Yy= Tube size is measured in 64ths of an inch.

so a 5/5 tip tip would be 5mm ring diameter and 5/64ths tube size.

I would suggest using a medium duty tip top with either Alconite or SiC. If you can contact Loomis they might be able to get you the type of ring they used

When you order your new tip top order two and get 2/ 5.5 and 2/5.0 this will cover you if you need to replace any tip tops on your rods in the future

Call G Loomis and they will send you what you need, free of charge. At least they always have for me.

Looking in an old 2003 catalog, the mahogany red brown blanks appeared to have a 6.5 tip.

In the end I did use a 6.5 as it gave me enough space to pull back some of the hot glue to make sure the tip was solid. I wound up using a Fuji Alconite BMGAT865 tip which gave me the ID of the guide I needed and the support. As this is a Flippin Stick, I have had some good size bass on this rod and in some gnarly places and the rod has never failed to pull them out. Thanks for all the help with this project your time is greatly appreciated!
