    The magnitude of the electrical load is determined. Wiring is then chosen to support the intended electrical load. A breaker (or fuse) is then sized to protect the wiring.

    Wiring for the starter motor (battery cables) is usually not fused. Or circuit breaker protected. In which case there is no circuit protection. Just the way that it is.

    Doing your own circuit engineering can be risky. In general your breaker should be larger than your load at its highest draw and less than the max capacity of the wire. If you have several separate loads they should all be fused separately. If you are not sure find someone that is. It will be worth the cost to do it correctly and safely. JMO Bob
