Importing settings from Gen 2 HDS to Carbon

I just found an old SD card I had all my Gen 2 settings saved to. Will importing them to a carbon, cause any issues or should I just start fresh?

I wold not do it. The units are different enough and practically speak different languages. Waypoints, Routes, and Trails are fine but I'd leave Settings to be done manually.

Ok I will not do that then. Also, another question is I just added a carbon 12 to my boat yesterday and right out of the box it found my ghost and the side bar shows up, but on the 2 Carbon 9's I already had installed do not show it. What do I need to turn on? All 3 units are up to date on their software.

That is a BIG no for settings on different generations.

To show the Ghost sidebar, you need a software update. Check your version again on the Carbons. You need to be over 20.X If they for sure are up to date, turn everything off, do hard resets on the Carbons, separately. Then turn everything back on starting with the NMEA network, then the Ghost, then the Carbon 12 and finally each of the Carbon 9s. You will lose your settings on the 9s but all your waypoints will sync once you turn on the 12.

Ok I will check again. I know I've got 20.xxx on both of the 9's, I checked them when I installed the ghost in November. How do I do the hard reset, and soft for that matter? It's been a few years since I had to mess with my electronics.
