Looking for a lake to fish

Hey guys. I’m currently in NM for some training around the Alamogordo area. Was wondering if there were any lakes worth visiting out in the western part of the state by where I’m at. Let me know. Thanks!

Texas has not taken over New Mexico yet.

The only one I know of is in Ruidoso. Trout fishing from the bank is what it is known for.

Just checked and NM is not listed on the list of states. Tells you something about their fishing. LOL

Elephant Butte. Ute and Conchas.. Would be my suggestions in NM for bass. If your wanting to travel and go to West Texas-ish.
Amistad, Ivie, Possum Kingdom and Hubbard creak are my favorites. However, Amistad is fishing TOUGH and Ivie can hurt your feelings but there's a possibility for the fish of a lifetime.

Elephant Butte is in really sad shape right now. I've never been on it, but would be careful if you venture out on it. It's a long way to water in TX from Alamogordo.
