^^^^^ this ....after I back into garage I remove the trailer from the truck .I keep the electric /lighting plug still connected too the truck and go and shift the truck from park to drive a few times ,this seems to disengage some of the pressure off the brakes so I can move the boat into position by hand , My coupler never releases full out.

The best way to be sure pressure is completely released is to back up, chock the trailer tires, then pull forward on the truck then disconnect trailer.

You eliminate all that by just using the lockout.

Mine does, I have a 2018 Marine Master Triton trailer

when I go to unhook the boat, I notice the plunger is pushed back, but after I unhook it from the Truck I can see the pressure pushes the coupler forward.

The backward pressure from the truck push's the brake cylinder plunger back, but the brakes don't work because the electric solenoid prevents that from happening.

Mine does not have manual lockout just the electric solenoid.

You can buy a magnetic lockout key for less than $20.

I checked but it doesn’t fit mine, I have a Titan 60 and as far as I can tell no way to manually lock it out.

I guess I stand corrected. You would think there would have to be a way to manually lock them out so dealers can move trailers around without having to power the solenoid, but maybe not.

Just curious....did you call the manufacturer and ask them? Never run across this before either.

They specifically tell you not to restrict the actuator motion for backing. It’s likely this actuator is used with free-backing brakes so no need for a lockout.

After I get the boat in its spot I chock the wheels then pull forward to make sure the brakes are not engaged. Also makes it easier to remove the trailer from the truck and install the hitch lock.

The manual states that there is no manual lockout. I am considering installing a manual ball valve in the brake line in case the electric solenoid stops working. They are disc brakes and they are not free backing either. Probably could drill a hole through the coupler in the right spot to make my own lock out but not sure I really want to do that.
