If I can make a recommendation…I would go to Jordan before Harris in January. Harris can be tough and it can be really tough in January.

I vote Jordan. Gaston or Kerr the chance of catching anything over 8lbs is almost nothing. Jordan. You are around them.

Kyle: I run a guide service for Harris and Jordan. Harris is hit or miss in Jan but yields many 8#+ fish. If you want to target only a trophy Harris is a good call. For more action, and an equal chance for a trophy Jordan is more reliable plus most of our great local sticks average 20#+ sacks. You can reach me through billmanningfishing.com if I can help you.

As bbbill said it can be hit or miss on Harris.
Like 7,8 out of 10 is a miss. The fish are there , don't get me wrong. There's 2 guys I've seen that can hit them 9 out of 10
But have 1000's of hrs. on that lake.

Have you heard of the chowan or alligator rivers. I didn't fish alligator. Have only fished chowan . If it's good in January don't know.
But there is fish there. Watch videos of Chowan river

Spend a few buck and hire Bill. Tons of Giants in both but can be tough to pattern and find if you have never fished these lakes…

Crossed my mind actually..having him in the boat for the day would truly be an amazing advantage to catching some bigguns...

Start @ Harris in the morn and if the action is slow go to Jordan. Crosspoint to Poes Ridge is 15-20 mins. Done it several times.
