    USA Fast Idling

    2002 Yamaha ox66 idling extremely fast in cold weather. Idling at approximately 1200 instead of 1000....extremely loud clunk noise to go into gear.

    Even 1000 is too high. It’s simple to turn the idle screw down with a small Phillips screwdriver. I think 650 RPMs when warmed up is specs. If you have a hot foot, make sure that your throttle linkage is returning Fully.

    My 2004 was doing this a while back, doubled up on Ring Free for a couple of tanks. Problem solved!
