    RT188 Power Pole install ?

Has anyone used a Power Pole bracket to mount a Power Pole to the 4 inch set back plate on their Ranger RT series boat? If so, would you share some pics?

Maybe a bracket like this plate-kit-s-2-2-port-bk_1.png

I really do not want to drill through my transom.

I installed the talons brackets between the transom and the jack plate on my RT198. Ground small relief on the bracket for the screw heads on the transom. No big deal. Just installed a single PP bracket on a Maverick Saltwater boat. Did not completely remove the motor when installing the bracket and the spacer plate.

    That's what I used on my RT198
    With a 4" Atlas jackplate

I am a little concerned about engine turning clearance using this mount? I will be drilling holes in the spacer plate to mount bracket, just not sure if I should mount higher on spacer on in the middle?

PP makes many different mounting plates. Take some measurement before ordering, if you are concerned.
Why would you need to drill holes on the spacer plate? The bolt hole pattern is standard on motor mounting holes.
Sounds like you are getting some bad advice from someone.

I have spoken with people from Power Pole company and Rich at Hydrilla Gear. All seemed to be very knowledgeable.

By spacer plate you mean a jack parts right?
The bracket holes should match the holes on the jack plate.
And you should not have issues with the engine hitting the ploe either

RT188 set back 2.jpgon my boat it is not a Jack plate. It does not raise or lower the engine. It was an option from Ranger that sets the engine back four inches from transom. Very similar to a jack plate but no movement. The power pole mounting will be just like mounting to a "jack plate" with the exception that there are no existing holes to use.

    i had a 4" jackplate on mine
the bracket faces away from the motor I don't see any issues
you can clamp the bracket to one side and rotate the motor to see

I would get the bracket and spacer that mounts to the stern before I would drill holes in the spacer brackets that you have.
