If I remove those 7 screws holding rod tubes in, what am I going to find? I would like for them to be gone IMG_2444.jpg

You'll find you've still got a lot of work to do to get em out, they're foamed in.

And that foam is attached with a lot of strong adhesive.

Seems like people that decide to remove the tubes always find out it was a lot more of a PITA than it was worth.

Buy some quality neoprene rod covers and you can stick multiples in those tubes.

I'd love to see a pic from someone that has done this. I'm wondering how 'finished' it looks when done. I had a jon boat once where the flotation foam was saturated, so had to remove it. It wasn't the most fun I ever had, but I used a drywall hole saw to cut out chunks at a time and it wasn't horrible. My concern would be after you remove the foam and clean it up, what it looks like. I guess you could probably just finish it out with some marine carpet if it looks too bad.

Yea, that’s what I was wondering about also. Maybe someone will eventually post an after pic. I know I’m not the only one to think about this LOL

Chris Johnston had the tubes removed from his Ranger, looked great. He had a walk threw last year of his boat on bassmasters and stated he had the tubes removed.

It's a lot of digging and standing on your head !! The locker lid (so you can lean over the outside) and the Bow Cover will need removed to get access to the tubes and foam. It take 2 guys at times too. It's a slow little by little digging job. Good luck !!!

Is it really worth it? I carry 18 rods and get confused on what to throw....more rods only add to the confusion

I carry 16, all in rod socks with "Pointy" ends. I don't have all of them with the handles all the way back. Some I just lay on the other rods below in front of the rods they lay on. NO, I don't think it's worth the effort !!!
