    SonarChartLive

Was out Monday and did some mapping and looking at SCL. The SCL readings are soo much different than the C-Map maps I have of my lake. But I'm assuming the SCL is the real deal and the most accurate readings for the bottom contours??? And if I map the lake recording sonar will my map be with the SCL detail? HDS Gen 3 units.

SCL is used when your mapping is Navionics. :)
Depending on how good the data used to create the map was, there can be anywhere from zero difference to MASSIVE difference between the map you use and Live-mapping.

If you record sonarlogs an use those to create a map with Reefmaster or C-Map Genesis, it will have the same detail and accuracy as your live-mapping, just with more features and proper backup. This might be worth a read: https://teamcolibri.blogspot.com/202...-cons.html?m=1

Sorry, my Navionics card, you're right - of course! I think from what I've seen I am on the MASSIVE difference end of the spectrum. This is also a private lake.
