    TW and PCH question

My wife and I are headed to California Friday. Flying in to San Diego and driving the PCH to San Francisco. Does Tackle Warehouse have walk-in/retail store? We will be hanging with family for a few days in San Diego and Long Beach, a beach house in Cayucos for a few days, and then on up to SF. It is an anniversary trip and our kids got us booked for hot tubs at Sycamore Mineral Springs in SLO next Wednesday and a behind the scenes tour at Alcatraz next Friday. After getting to SD this Friday we are meeting up with relatives and heading to USS Midway museum, really looking forward to that. I think Saturday is Sea World in SD and Sunday Dana Point Harbor, dinner at Wind and Sea, ice cream at Handel's(wife's cousins own), and Christmas Extravaganza at Saddleback Church. Other than those things we are pretty much winging it. Any other must see/do that we don't see in the travel guide or interweb?

Yes they have a storefront. They also will bring out anything you want that may not be on display. Been by there a couple of times. That area is beautiful with good restaurants as well.
We have done the PCH drive as well. Take your time and enjoy it. One of the most enjoyable trips we have done.

I don't know if my finances would survive a visit to the TW store.

Right! Might have to by another suitcase to check on the flight home!

I couldn't imagine paying the local taxes in the store wouldn't be worth it to me.

I live a few miles east of San Diego.
Coronado Hotel, Seaport Village, La Jolla are good.
Up the pch I enjoyed Santa Monica Pier a couple of years ago.
Haven't been north of there in a long time.
    Enjoy your trip.

The only place where it seemed excessive to us(by CA standards) was Malibu, Carmel and Monterey.

Stop by Pigeon Point Lighthouse between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. Also highly suggest a trip about 75 miles up Hwy 1 to Point Reyes lighthouse. While in SF you gotta stop by Hi's Tacklebox...its a great shop.

I believe the retail side of Tackle Warehouse is still closed. They have a table set up between a couple of their sister stores and you get your purchases from the attendant at the table.

This was still how it was a few days ago. I would call first.

If you have a chance when your in Avila at the mineral springs drive the few miles to Avila Beach. Great little beach town. Custom House has great food. Also when your in Cayucos if you get a chance to eat in Morro Bay try Taco Temple on Highway 1 just north of town. Carnitas are great along with their other dishes

I’ve lived here my whole life. If you need any help IM me and we can talk.

I'll second the Coronado and La Jolla. The Pacific Beach pier is pretty cool too.
Old Town has some good restaurants, if you like mexican there are several.
The zoo is top notch but that's pretty much a day trip..
You're gonna love the Midway, SeaWorld too..

San Diego has a ton of great stuff and the people are great..
Watch your driving as it's busy pretty much everywhere and watch for motorcycles!!!
they will thread traffic between the lanes and come from behind you..

Have a blast!!!! California is AWESOME!!!!!

Sales tax in San Diego county is less than St Louis, as is SLO, CA...just saying.

Hotel Del, La Jolla are a must. I have always liked Newport Bay Area.

Did the PCH drive twice. Drove from SD to Portland. OR once. Good times.

So I guess 8.xx is higher than 7.xx? Maybe my Google is broken. Also assuming I buy anything local for more than for convenience......

Legoland in SD if you are a kid at heart and Muir woods around SF if you have time.
