I guess the fine folks at this establishment never heard of San Francisco's finest, Inspector Harry Callahan.

You're going to have a lot of blocks if you're already triggered with only 37 posts.

It won't ever get my business, but then again, I won't ever be in San Francisco anyway.

Actually, according to case law, the police have no duty to protect anyone that is not in their custody. It has been upheld several times through the courts. Technically, they don’t have to lift a finger if the restaurant were to ever call on them. The United States Supreme Court affirmed this in Gonzalez v. Castle Rock, which was based on a previous precendent from a case in 1989.

That’s the beauty of this nation.

They’re well within their rights to deny service to anyone they choose but they must face the consequences of their actions.

Reminds me of the baker that denied baking a cake for a gay couple a few years ago.

Great example of social media (Yelp) actually being useful!

I don't buy there justification for a second, if you really felt that strongly to ask the police to leave because "there weapons" made employees feel uncomfortable you wouldn't be apologizing 24hrs later. There little political stunt back fired. The irony is no one felt uncomfortable working with all those knives around.

Charging $4.50 for a coffee and this act tells me everything I need to know about the ownership.

This is what happens when politicians and media demonize police.

Wow, if I owned a restaurant, I would want police in it all the time, maybe people in the area should find another restaurant to give their money to, I would. What kind of a restaurant owner/employee is "uncomfortable" with a police officer as a patron ?

Why is it OK for some businesses to deny services to some people, but other businesses don't have the same right? AGENDA

I was going to leave a review on Yelp for them, but Google shut it down after getting over 600 1 star reviews. The eating public needs to know about the terrible diarrhea my great aunt got after eating their $73 truffle pancakes!

Huh, I wonder why their staff was "uncomfortable". Have a reason to be or maybe a bunch of them. I would be the one who bought the officers lunch and welcomed them. CJ
