    2005 Verado compression

Need a little BBC wisdom please. I am considering a 2005 Triton TR21 with a 250 Verado on it. Ad says 450 hours 95 compression on ALL cylinders. On all sounds good but am I mistaken? Isn't 95 very low for that motor? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m no expert but 95 would be really low for a 4 stroke. I know my SHO with 750 hours has compression ~190 but I would question if testing procedures were properly followed on the Verado. Was the engine warm:were spark plugs all removed: was throttle blocked open; what was condition of battery and starter?

I'd wait for Don to provide factual information. Personally, I don't believe any compression test that shows the exact same number on every cylinder. Correct procedure for compression testing is in the FAQ at the top of this forum - Compression Testing.

Boy do I feel dumb. I am looking at so many boats I got two of them confused. The Verado wasn't the motor with 95 compression. Sorry for wasting your time guys.

But you were right, that would have been VERY low!
