    1993 XRI 175

    Model: XRI 175
    Serial: 0D274766

Bought an 05 Stratos with this motor this week. Mainly bought the boat for the hull. Test drove with the prior owner. Water pickup was a little slow but fired up and ran well. Took it out on my own for the first time today, motor fired up and an intermittent alarm sounded about 5-7 seconds after starting. Turned and notice no water pumping out. Prior owner put a new ignition switch in last week. Not sure if it’s correlated or not. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Water doesn’t come out of pee hole until thermostats open at about 143 degrees. Alarm could be over heat, low oil in tank on motor or maybe oil pump not running (unless oil injection has been removed). Or wiring problem with new ignition switch. Could be other things too, depending on what other sensors this motor has like water in fuel.

Overheat is a SOLID TONE, so more than likely this is either Water in Fuel, OR an oil pump rotation warning.
